Wynyard Crossing closed from 6pm on Wednesday
Due to the New Zealand Government raising the COVID-19 alert level to 4, all non-essential services must close to prevent the spread of the virus. Wynyard Crossing Bridge will remain in an upright position from midnight tomorrow night.
The bridge is not considered an essential service because there is an alternative route for people to walk and cycle around the Viaduct Harbour. The bridge is manually operated on site by Panuku staff who will now self-isolate for at least 4 weeks.
Wynyard Crossing Bridge will remain in an upright position for at least 4 weeks from 6pm, 25 March 2020 and will be monitored by CCTV security.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
