Festive Foodies - after work drinks
Make the most of the glorious waterfront in the lead up to Christmas by choosing a place in Wynyard Quarter for those “we must catch up before Christmas” drinks. As chief organiser, here is a round-up of some places to go.
The Conservatory
With a good selection of craft beers and an extensive cocktail menu, The Conservatory as its name suggests is the perfect place to settle in and make yourselves at home. Grab a pizza or some small plates to share and enjoy watching the world go by on North Wharf.

Good George
The newest kid on the North Wharf block, Good George are brewers from Hamilton who, as well as making their own beer, cider and gin, have a full menu so perfect for drinks and snacks or the full monty.
While you’re there you can grab a squealer of beer or cider to take home with you as a Christmas present to yourself or if you’re feeling generous, someone else.

North Park
A great spot to share a bottle of bubbles, rose or a jug of margarita with your friends on a warm summers evening overlooking the water.

Good Luck Coconut
This tiki bar is a great place to meet if you fancy cocktails. Missionary’s Downfall is a personal favourite of mine, it tastes great and looks beautiful so you can order this one for the gram.
Grab a selection of small plates like Ika Mata, potsticker dumplings and chicken karaage to snack on while you catch up.

Wynyard Pavilion
With Little Creatures, Panhead and Emersons on tap here, this is a good place to share a jug or two with some mates after work. There’s also a good range of cocktails and wines for the non-beer drinkers.
Order a charcuterie plate and some salt and pepper squid and, let’s face it, probably some fries to go with.
