America's Cup bases blessed
On Monday, 14 October our mana whenua partners Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei - Whai Maia, Ngāti Whatua o Kaipara, Te Patukiriki, Ngaati Whanaunga, and Te Ākitai Waiohua lead a ceremony and karakia on the waterfront to welcome INEOS Team UK and American Magic to their America's Cup bases in Wynyard Quarter.
We were blessed with a beautiful sunrise, amazing weather and a great turnout. Kia ora to Tina Symmans, chair of America’s Cup Events Limited, Gary Haywood of INEOS Team UK who represented the teams, and Pescado for providing the first coffee of the day.
