Serving up the finest gelato outside Italy
It’s all in the name. Gelatiamo literally translates to “I love gelato” in Italian. And it embodies everything gelato should be, says owner Dora Zhao. Following tradition, everything is handmade on site, using the best products imported from Italy possible to create a fresh and authentic experience.
Resident pastry chef, Max has applied his pastry knowledge to gelato to curate unique flavours, which are forever changing – apart from the classic favourites.
Dora maintains it’s the finest gelato outside of Italy. And since they started competing in 2013, Gelatiamo has more than 20 New Zealand Ice Cream Awards to back this up; eight gold and the rest, silver. These include Best Chocolate ice cream award winner 2014 – Dutch Chocolate, Best Gelato winner 2015 – Banana Gelato and Best Sorbet winner 2015 – Grapefruit sorbet.
