Tīramarama Way Stage 1 was opened in Winter 2018 and creates a link between Halsey and Daldy Street, features purposful puddles and a nikau grove.
Stage two is currently underway, due for completion by Christmas 2020 and will provide a laneway connection between Daldy and Beaumont Street.
Tīramarama Way means to glimmer, shine and light the way and it is the name of the east to west laneway connecting Halsey, Daldy and Beaumont Street. Prior to the reclamation of Wynyard Quarter, this location was near the original shoreline of the Waitematā Harbour and a mahinga kai (a food gathering place). The design of the laneway has been curated by the landscape architects Wraight + Associates and local artist Lisa Reihana in consultation with mana whenua.
